Register for showmanship contest, prospect steer show and breeding beef show hip height steers. No
individual stalls available only tie out areas in the Show Ring. Request a livestock exhibitor gate pass
at the Southwest gate. Trailer parking South of the Fraley's Main arena.

Beef Grooming Clinic
Bring your animals as clean as possible. This clinic will demonstrate techniques on clipping & tips on
good grooming to follow during your project. Clipping perfection is not required.  Limited washing &
electricity available, weather dependant. Bring your clippers & brushes.

Beef Showmanship Clinic
Learn showmanship techniques and show ring etiquette. Learn what to do to train you and your steer.
Animals need to be controllable but won't have to be show ring ready. The showman will learn what
their job is, including proper show ring use of halters, combs and show sticks.

Beef Showmanship Contest
Classes will be novice, intermediate & expert. Showmen must own the animal they show. Open to
individuals 18 years old and younger. Prize money will be awarded in each class. Animals may not
be the experts at this time, but does the showman know what to do?

Prospect Steer Jackpot Show
Classes by hip height, if enough entries, with prize money for class winners. $5 entry fee.

Breeding Beef Show
Open to youth and adult exhibitors. $5 entry fee. Classes will be divided by age and sex of cattle
depending on number of entries with prize money for each class.

Beef Showmanship Winners

       Joe Lanier & James Snyder presented the showmanship clinic.  They used 5
first time participants and lead them through the showmanship techniques.  Joe
was ring steward for the showmanship classes.

Entries in the Showmanship Contest were divided by experience. Sponsored by

Prospect Steer Show

       Prospect Steer Show was divided into 4 classes in order to give the entries
that had more than one steer an opportunity to fit into different hip height
classes. Jake Gordanier and BJ Lanier helped with the hip height
measurements. Sponsored by Basin Co-op.
